Spring 2023

  • Boys

    Baseball
    The boys baseball team finished the season with an 11-23-1 record. The team is continuing to work hard in preparation for next spring’s season.

    Golf
    The boys golf team has a bright future ahead. The team consisted of four juniors, eight sophomores, and four freshmen. Sophomore Rhoads Hall stepped up to lead the team along with freshman Charlie Kruse. The team is working hard to grow and improve and looks forward to competing at an even higher level next season.

    Tennis
    The boys tennis season ended the season as District Champions finishing with an impressive 15-5 record.

    Track & Field
    The boys track & field team had five meets this past season, with their highest placements in 4th, 5th, and 8th place.

    Volleyball
    The boys team graduated five seniors this year. The team competed in a tournament at Belleville East, making the bronze bracket.

  • Girls

    Lacrosse
    This year’s girls lacrosse team is full of potential, with only six seniors on the varsity team. Senior Emily Griege is one of the leading goalies in the St. Louis area in nearly every category, and this has been her third year starting on varsity. This year, many of the girls from the JV and C team rosters received valuable varsity experience.

    Soccer
    The girls team had one of the strongest returning senior classes in recent program history, with eight seniors. With a solid mix of talented underclass players, the team got on to a roaring start winning all five of their opening games, and the girls are working hard to improve by Districts to make a run to State.

    Track & Field
    The girls track & field team competed in six meets this past spring. The team finished in 7th and 8th in two of their meets.

Winter 2022–23

  • Boys

    Basketball
    The boys team finished the season with a 20-10 record, winning their district championship and making it to the Elite 8 in Class 5.  The team graduated two seniors, Will Warren and Kobi Williams, who invested a lot of time, effort, and love into the team and program. Kobi set several records, including becoming the all-team leading scorer with 1,608 points. He was also the first WCA boys player to be selected to the St. Louis All-Metro First Team, 2x Class 5 All-State, 3x All-District and District Player of the Year this season, 3x All-Metro League and Player of the Year this season, 3x District Champion, played in three Elite 8 games in career and one state championship game. Sophomore JD Robertson was also selected to the All-District and All-Metro League 2nd Team.

    Hockey
    The Ice Hockey team got hot at the right time of the year and brought home the Founders Cup. The one-game winner takes all championship featured the Wildcats and fourth-seeded Francis Howell Central. A power-play goal by junior Joey Morici early in the third put the game on ice and rounded out the scoring for a 7-3 final and Founders Cup Championship.

    Wrestling
    The wrestling team had a great season. With only two seniors and missing 5-7 weight classes for team competition, there were many individual highlights. The boys wrestling team had five new wrestlers who were eager to learn and compete. Of the seven wrestlers that competed at districts, two qualified for State, including junior Nehemiah Oginni, despite this being his first year wrestling. Senior Roger Jinkins recorded his 100th career win at districts.

  • Girls

    Basketball
    The girls team finished with an outstanding 19-9 overall record. There were five seniors on the team. Senior Julia Coleman was honored on with 1st Team All-State, 3rd Team All-Metro League, District MVP, All-District, and All-Conference. Julia finished the year with 1,425 career points and signed with Texas State. Senior Sydney Bradley and sophomore Addie Kane were both named All-Conference and All-District. Senior Kylie Robertson was named MBCA Academic-All-State.

    Dance
    The dance team graduated five seniors this year. The varsity and JV teams performed at home football games and boys home basketball games in a variety of different styles. The team’s Christmas dance was a highlight of the season, with a surprise appearance by the school’s Wildcat.

    Swimming
    The girls team ended their winter season with the school’s first state swimming and diving state championship. The girls recorded a dual/tri-meet record of 10-0 and secured first place in the conference. The historic season saw new school records in 8 out of 12 events and included state championship performances from freshmen Sydney Schoeck and Hannah Renaud. The team was led by senior captains Lucy Christian, Sara Schloss, and Margaret McDaniel.

    Wrestling
    This year was the first season with a girls wrestling team, and the four girls did an excellent job learning the sport and competing—junior Kate Van Zee made state qualifiers.

Fall 2022

  • Boys

    Cross Country
    The boys cross country team competed in six races this past season, finishing in 6th and 9th place in two of them.

    Football
    The football team worked hard this past season after graduating several star players last year. Junior Joseph Anderson was recognized on the All-State team. The team graduated three seniors and looks forward to an exciting upcoming season with new—and returning—head coach Cory Snyder.

    Soccer
    The boys varsity team spent multiple weeks this past season as the #1 ranked team in the state for Class 2. Finishing as runner-up in districts, the team ended the season officially ranked as #2 for the 2nd year in a row. Junior Levi Weik led the team in goals (8), and senior Clavin Van Heest led the team in assists (11). Three players were recognized for the All-State team, and seven were recognized for the All-Metro team. The team was also recognized with the Team Ethics Award of Merit by the United Soccer Coaches Association for having no red cards and very few yellow cards.

    Swim
    The boys swim team worked hard this past fall and plans to continue improving in the off-season to come back stronger next year.

  • Girls

    Cheer
    The cheer team performed at a competition for the first time in several years and received a 3rd place finish at the MCCA State Regional Competition, earning them a chance to compete at the State Competition. Last summer, the team received several honors at the UCA Cheer Camp in the Lake of the Ozarks, including the Top Leadership Award (voted by all the teams at the camp) and 2nd place overall for their camp routine. Freshman Isabelle Clawson, sophomore Kate Beste, junior Madeline Peri, and seniors Kyla Bynum, Emily Claus, and Caroline Rahal were all voted All-American.

    Cross Country
    The girls cross country team competed in three races this past season, finishing in 7th place in their final two races.

    Field Hockey
    The girls field hockey team finished the season with an impressive 12-5-1 record.

    Golf
    The girls golf team had a terrific season finishing with a 10-3 record. Throughout the season, the team received multiple awards finishing 1st in the Cat Scratch Scramble Tournament and the Ste. Genevive Tournament (the team’s score of 322 is the best in program history) and becoming Conference Champions. Two golfers were also named on the District Team Champions list. The team graduated eight seniors this year.

    Softball
    The girls softball team had an incredible season finishing the year in the State Final 4. At the end of the fall, the team was 20-8.

    Tennis
    The girls are working hard in preparation for next fall.

    Volleyball
    In early November, the girls volleyball team won their second MSHAA Class 4 State Championship in a row! The team, made up of both experienced players and eager rookies, raced to the final following an impressive performance in the semi-final round against Platte County.
