Wildcats Hire Former NFL Player as Head Football Coach

Westminster is pleased to announce that Butler B’ynote’ will serve as the Wildcats head football coach starting with the 2020 season.

“I’m grateful and honored to be a part of a program that solidifies my morals and values as a football coach and Christian leader,” Coach B’ynote’ said. “This has been a dream come true for my family and me. We are truly honored and grateful to serve in this community while leading this historically strong and competitive football program. There is a lot of hard work ahead but I am confident the administration, coaches, players, and parents are all excited to begin the journey of reaching our desired goals and expectations.”

Coach B’ynote’ attended The Ohio State University where he played running back and was a kick returner on the football team. He was selected in the 7th round of the NFL draft by the Denver Broncos and spent time as a defensive back with both the Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

Following his playing career, Coach B’ynote’ served as head football coach at his alma mater, Vashon High School, and most recently, as an assistant coach at Kirkwood High School.

“We are excited to have Coach B’ynote’ lead our program and join our school community,” said Westminster Athletic Director Cory Snyder. “He has a strong passion for developing a highly competitive football program that seeks to grow young men in their faith and character.”

Coach B’ynote’ joins a seasoned Wildcat coaching staff that includes Westminster alumnus Greg Schoenberg, defensive coordinator Mike Decker, and former NFL player Bennie Anderson.
