Westminster Vocalists Excel at State Music Festival

Westminster vocalists excelled at the 68th Annual Missouri State High School Activities Association State Music Festival.

Several students received gold ratings for their performances, including soloists Lauren Dunn (freshman) and Raphaella Zavaglia (senior) and a girls ensemble consisting of Ajé Jones (sophomore), Lilly Coln (senior), Kennedy Kittner (senior), Jess Norman (senior), and Zavaglia. “They put a lot of work into it, were beautifully expressive, and sounded great,” Westminster Performing Arts Director Allen Schwamb said.

The state-level festival included 4,756 individual and group performances representing 382 schools. Students performed before some of the nation’s top music adjudicators who provided critiques and ratings of the students’ musical abilities. Festival participants qualified by earning an Exemplary rating at their respective district-level festival.
