Tennis Team Dedicates Season to Raising Support for Autism Research

Coach Madeline Jolly encourages her team to choose a person or a cause to sponsor each season. “As a coach, I think focusing on bigger picture issues helps my players keep perspective and remember that the platform they have as a varsity player should be looked at as an opportunity to represent something bigger than yourself,” Jolly told West Newsmagazine.

This year, the team chose to raise awareness for autism on behalf of their coach and a young boy she cares for as a nanny. To date, the team has raised over $1,000 for Mercy Kids Autism Center by selling “#playforowen” t-shirts. If you’d like to contribute to the campaign by purchasing a shirt or making a donation, you may do so on their campaign page.

The team was also recently highlighted by West Newsmagazine and Frank Cusumano on KSDK.
