“Meet Me In St. Louis” Nominated for Nine Awards

Westminster Christian Academy’s spring production of Meet Me In St. Louis received nine nominations in eight categories for the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards (SLHSMTA).

“We’re incredibly excited to be nominated,” says Allen Schwamb, performing arts director. “We put a tremendous amount of work into making the show as excellent as we could, so it is very gratifying to have that work celebrated.”

Westminster’s nominations include:

  • Outstanding Musical
  • Outstanding Lead Actress: Allison Broadhurst
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress: Ava Berutti, Anna Hassler
  • Outstanding Supporting Actor: Mark Geisz
  • Outstanding Direction: Allen Schwamb
  • Outstanding Ensemble
  • Outstanding Technical Execution
  • Outstanding Music Direction: Alex Cross

In 2018, Westminster’s production of The Wiz received ten nominations and was awarded Outstanding Costume and Execution as well as Outstanding Direction. In 2017, the Wildcats production of Fiddler on the Roof was named Outstanding Musical and Natalie Brown ’18 won Best Supporting Actress.

The third annual awards ceremony will take place on June 2, 2019, at The Fabulous Fox.

The SLHSMTA celebrates outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre. Participating schools will have their productions evaluated by a panel of theatre professionals. The Fabulous Fox, The Muny, and Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation are proud sponsors of the SLHSMTA, a regional chapter of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards.
