Brennan Orf Scores 1,000th Point

Senior basketball player Brennan Orf entered the week needing 26 points to reach 1,000 for his career. The team played in the Lindbergh tournament with games on Tuesday (against Jackson), Thursday (against Riverview), and Friday scheduled.  Orf scored 8 points in the team’s win over Jackson leaving him with 18 left to reach the milestone.

After a slow start and six points at halftime of the game against Riverview, Brennan put up 13 points in the second half to eclipse the 1,000 point mark. It didn’t come easy for the senior. After a couple of missed attempts and free throws needing only one more point, Orf scored his 1,000th and 1,001st points in a way that best exemplifies his career. He took a pass at half-court from teammate Casen Lawrence and drove one-on-one to the basket against a Riverview defender. Orf went up for the layup and took heavy contact from the defender on a foul and made the layup for an “and one” situation.
