Emilee Mitchell

Emilee Mitchell is a senior cheerleader. She’s been a member of the cheer squad since her freshman year and has made great some great memories during this time.

“I will always have great memories of the Friday night football games played at other schools,” she said.

Emilee also enjoys the lasting relationships she’s formed as a member of her team.

“I love team bonding and spending time together outside of school. Sometimes we have breakfasts to catch up on life! Other times we have bonfires, movie nights, and holiday parties.”

Besides being a cheerleader, Emilee manages to stay very involved in school.

“I have been a 7th grade peer counseling leader and have loved it! It is a blessing to get to know the girls every Tuesday morning and bond with them outside of school. Also, I volunteer at WCA’s middle school cheer practices and games and belong to the National Honors Society.”

She also volunteers at her church. She works with first graders and helps them to grow in their faith. On top of working with kids at church, Emilee works with children at her job.

“I work part-time at Hi-NRG gymnastics and teach kids how to tumble and cheer.”

Emilee is very dedicated to making the most of her time at Westminster. She says that being involved gives her purpose because we are called by God to love Him and love others.

“I believe being a part of school activities is extremely important because of the relationships that you can make here at WCA. You do not want to miss the opportunities Westminster provides for you to be a part of the community,” she said.

Kyleigh Peer

Kyleigh Peer is also a senior cheerleader. In addition to cheer, she is a diver on the swim team and she plays golf. In golf this year, she made it to sectionals, but she wants to make it farther during the swim and dive season this winter.

“Heading into the busy winter season, balancing two sports, my goal for dive this year is to continue improving my skills in both sports,” Kyleigh said.

One of Kyleigh’s biggest goals for herself is to continue cheering in college.

“I have been focusing on improving as a cheerleader in hopes of continuing through college. I have been visiting the University of Alabama and participating in their cheer clinics.”

Although Kyleigh is very successful as an individual athlete, she enjoys being with her teammates during practice and even outside of sports.

“Playing sports for school has given me so many opportunities to make so many new friends that I know I will miss one day,” she said.

Outside of sports, Kyleigh is involved in the school as a student council member.

“I have a creative mind and like to express my ideas for different events. I have been on spirit leadership team in the past, too,” Kyleigh said.

Aside from being a great athlete, Kyleigh manages to stay involved in many activities and build relationships with her teammates.

“God has blessed me with many talents which allow me to participate in cheer and dive,” she said. “I love being able to see my teammates outside of practice and really have a bond with them.”
