Westminster Christian Academy’s Wildcats baseball team clinched three-peat in a Class 4 state championship game on Sunday, June 2, against Oak Grove, securing the state title. Wildcat pitchers Ben Lovell and Brennan Hehner led the team to a 4-1 victory over Logan-Rogersville in a two-part game postponed on Friday, May 31, due to severe weather conditions and continued on Saturday, June 1. The win progressed the team to the state championship game for the third consecutive year. Westminster scored a clutch win against Oak Grove 2-1 with Shane Benes hitting a two-run homer for the team. Three-time state champions, Westminster finished as the top small school team in St. Louis, winning 18 straight games to become the fourth school in state history to clinch three-peat in state championships.
