Doug Coleman has worked his way up the ranks of the Westminster boys basketball program over the past seven years.
A 1999 Westminster graduate, Coleman was announced as the Wildcats basketball coach on Monday.
“It really was working my way from the ground up, so to speak,” he said.
Coleman, 32, played college basketball at Maryville then spent two years as an assistant coach and three as the head coach at North County Christian. He then spent time as an assistant at Maryville under Matt Rogers before moving on to Westminster.
“I started out as freshman head coach with the varsity assistant label and then moved up to JV head and now varsity head,” he said.
