Drive safely.

For the safety of your students and their peers, please practice the procedures outlined in the parking and traffic diagram and follow the guidelines for morning drop-off and after-school pick-up.

Morning Drop-Off and After-School Pick-Up

We encourage parents to study the parking and traffic diagram to understand how to navigate the lot to ensure proper traffic flow and to know which parking spaces are designated for students, faculty/staff, and visitors.

Please remember:

  • It is critical that all drivers observe and obey the stop signs posted in the drop-off/pick-up lanes.
  • It is imperative that parents use only the carpool lanes to drop off and pick up students. Using the parking lot for drop-off/pick-up blocks traffic in the parking area and increases the potential danger for students.
  • To maximize traffic flow and the safety of your students, it is vital that parents pull to the curb for drop-off/pick-up. It is not courteous or safe to load or unload students from the left lane; this also blocks traffic and could endanger students.
  • Upper school classes end at 3 p.m. every day.
  • Middle school classes end at 3 p.m. If middle school students are not participating on an athletic team or receiving after-school academic help, we recommend that they be picked up by 3:30 p.m. when possible.

Important Carpool Protocol

Westminster’s two-lane carpool system is designed for efficient drop-off procedures. Because we have two separate entrances to our building, the left lane is designed to allow traffic to bypass the middle school entrance and proceed directly to the upper school entrance.

Please remember to drive slowly through the carpool lanes in front of the building, and please use caution when merging into or out of the drop-off/pick-up lane (the right lane). If you are using the left lane to proceed to a spot farther up in the drop-off/pick-up lane, please use extreme caution when pulling into an open spot, as other vehicles may also be in the process of changing lanes or pulling farther up the drop-off/pick-up lane.

If you are using the parking lot to drop off or pick up your student, you must pull into a parking space to do so. You are not allowed to stop or wait in the drive lanes.

All drivers are encouraged to drive slowly on campus and refrain from being distracted by the use of cell phones.
