There will be a new Class 1 state girls champion this year.
Westminster graduate Brooke Cusumano won state the last two years with the lowest score. This time, senior Jessica Dreesbeimdieke has a good chance as she won the district and sectional tournaments.“We are not for certain if a school has had three individual champions in a row or not but that is the goal,” Westminster coach Steve Bradley said. “Jessica has been playing great golf. I know one thing she is not going to Sedalia to bring back a second place medal. Jessica really likes to sit back and watch the other girls find trouble, at that point she attacks. She is very steady in her approach to the game and each hole.”
