Part-time Upper School Learning Center Teachers/Case Managers

Westminster Christian Academy is currently seeking two part-time Upper School Learning Center Teachers/Case Managers to join our Special Services team in the 2018-19 academic year. Both part-time teachers/case managers will teach two sections and have one case manager hour.

Founded in 1976 as an independent, coeducational school, Westminster Christian Academy provides a comprehensive college preparatory program for 975 students in grades 7 through 12. The school is located in suburban St. Louis County, Missouri, on a 70-acre campus, 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis.

Westminster Christian Academy honors Jesus Christ by providing an excellent education, rooted in biblical truth as interpreted by the Westminster Confession of Faith, for the children of Christian parents. Faculty and staff enable students to discover and embrace a biblical view of the world and integrate that view into every area of life.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct StudyLab classes
  • Review and write ISPs as needed
  • Collaborate with the faculty across all curricular areas
  • Participate in all functions of the Special Services Department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Special Education Certification required
  • Two or more years of elementary or secondary teaching experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to parents and faculty
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for struggling students
  • Deep knowledge of disability manifestation in an academic setting and proven success in meeting the spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of challenged students
