Students from 27 area high schools will compete for honors at the inaugural St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards. The ceremony, which includes performances by the students, is at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Fox Theatre, 527 North Grand Boulevard. Established in 2009, the national awards program is designed “to celebrate and recognize talented young people and their teachers, who are creating great musicals in high schools throughout our community,” said Mary Strauss, a Fox Theatre partner and the chairman of board of the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation.
