The Weekly Rundown

5/13   At the Lutheran South Invitational this weekend:   Bo Thomas broke the school pole vault record at 10′ 6″, Girls 4 x 100 relay (Makaylah Meredith, Izzy Haupfear, Leah Votava and Seanea Williams) broke the school record, and  Boys 4 x100 relay team (Nathan Duke, Zach Hughes, Connor Hafenrichter, Brendan Yeager) broke the school record as well.

5/1   Tuesday night at the Lutheran St. Charles’ invitational with 19 teams the girls team placed 3rd and the boys team placed 5th!  Great improvement over last year.    Many medals were earned by the Wildcats including 5 first places in: 4×100 relay – both girls and boys, High Jump – Alivia Johnston, 100 and 200 meter dash – Saenea Williams. Congrats!

4/25   At last weekend’s Metro Conference Meet:      1) Boys 4 x 800 team (Connor Hafenrichter, Zach Hughes, Jack Andrews and Josh Sumner) won and set a Metro Conference Meet record.     2) Dan Luedders won the boys 3200m race 3) Brendan Big Chief Yeager won the 800m race and set a Metro Conference meet record    4) The girls 4 x 400 team (Makaylah Meredith, Leah Votava, Alyssa Freiner, Saenea Williams) set a new school record of 4:12.50

4/17 Westminster Boys and Girls Track and Field won their first ever home meet last night (Wed 4/16).- working together for a combined winning score.  We competed against Lutheran South, JFK High School, and St. Dominic. Bo Thomas set a new school record in the pole vault jumping 9’6:

4/14    In the two meets this past week, Track and Field Wildcats broke and tied 3 school records –   Saenea Williams broke the 100 and 200 record and is currently ranked 2nd in the state.     Alivia Johnston tied the high jump record.                     This coming Wed 4/16 is an historic day – the very first Track Meet ever hosted by Westminster.  Field events start at 4pm – please come cheer on our athletes!

4/7   Saturday was a great day for Westminster track and field.  In only their 2nd meet of the year, the boys and girls had many outstanding performances at John Burroughs’ Skipper Keifer Relays.  School records were set in the pole vault by Sophomore Alyssa Freiner and  Freshman Harry Meddler.  Our boys distance medley relay (Brendan Yeager, Jack Andrews, Thomas Meyer, and Dan Luedders) placed first out of 15 teams.  The girls 4×400 relay (Makaylah Meredith, Leah Votava, Emily Adkisson, and Saenea Williams) placed 2nd out of 15 teams.   Way to go Wildcats!
