Dan Burke Receives Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award

English Department Chair Dan Burke joined an elite group of St. Louis area educators as a recipient of the 2018 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes teachers for their passion for teaching, their impact on student learning, and their knowledge and creativity in the classroom.

Now in his 10th year at Westminster, Burke exemplifies these qualities. He has served the Westminster community in a variety of capacities, including cross country and track coach, teacher mentor, lead teacher for 9th and 12th grade curriculum, freshman team leader, and more. Burke currently teaches Advanced Expository Writing and AP Language and Composition.

The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards program recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
