The Westminster girls tennis team aims to use the game of tennis to teach players how to strengthen their relationship with Christ and better the community. Tennis players should leave the program feeling more confident in their own abilities and more prepared to engage the world than when they entered the program. Whether it is learning how to fight through the emotional ups and downs of an individual match, striving to perfect physical talents and gifts, understanding how to interact as a team and community, or hosting a nonprofit fundraiser, the tennis season should be a season of growth.
The girls tennis team has won two district championships (2013 and 2021) and finished second at state once (2021). Lauren DeRousse and Christine Schlafly won the doubles state championship in 2009 and finished second in 2010.
