Contact Head Coach: Crystal Burklo with any questions.
We are grateful to announce that we’ve hired our new Head Varsity Cheer Coach! Crystal Burklo is currently PE teacher and AD at Central Christian School and is excited to join our Cheer program coaching staff. Rather than my trying to tell her story, I’ll let her tell you a little about herself!
“As a native Texan, I have deep pride in my home state and its love for Football and Cheer. I started cheering in the 6th grade and continued through High School. After a few years in college I walked on to the University of Texas at San Antonio cheer team (GO RUNNERS!). In addition to game cheer, we competed in the NCA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida. The experience of competing in the Daytona Band Shell is one I will never forget. I graduated from college in 2007 and was married in 2010.
God put in on my heart to coach High School cheer a few years after beginning work at San Antonio Christian School. I spent two years coaching the varsity team and during that time we placed 2nd (2010) and 3rd (2011) at the FCC National Cheerleading Competition in Orlando, Florida. I loved the experience of competition which focused on our talents coming from the Lord and included a worship experience with other cheerleaders from around the country.
God moved our family of four (my husband Jon and our two children Harrison (5) and Aila (3)) to St. Louis in 2015. God has once again put it on my heart to coach High School Cheerleading. I feel very blessed and excited to begin this next season with you all. Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting you all soon.”
