It is time to serve and volley, and the high school boys tennis teams are hitting the courts.
Here is a look at the teams:

2012 record: Finished 12-7.
Coach: Nathan Talley, entering 11th year coaching the boys at Westminster.
Returning lettermen: Nine.
Players to watch for this spring: Bailey Merkel and Derek Bell. The two will compete for the No. 1 position and are exceptional players. Two strong returning seniors (both captains) in Hunter Hughes and Nathan Arnold.
Newcomer expected to contribute: Freshman Andrew Montgomery.
Team strengths: Strong doubles players. Good positive attitudes and outlooks for the season. These boys know there are more important things than just winning or losing.
Quote: “My senior captains are really setting the tone well this season,” Talley said. “Both of them love tennis, but as seniors, they have goals that go beyond the court. They are focused on becoming a team that serves our community, one another and even our opponents this season. In it, their desire is to serve the Lord. I love it when young men actually want to pursue something bigger than themselves, bigger than tennis.”
